Circularo is reinforcing its commitment to nurturing the UAE’s future cybersecurity experts by returning as a Gold Sponsor of the 2026 School of Cyber Defence contest. Organized by TechFirm Technology LLC with backing from the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC), this initiative focuses on bringing university students into the realm of cybersecurity through practical scenarios reflecting real-world security operations. The event will unfold in several stages, culminating in a final showdown on September 18, 2026, at GISEC Global in Dubai, where the top five teams will present and defend their cybersecurity solutions to an expert panel.
The competition kicks off with an online qualification round, from which selected teams will tackle a comprehensive case study, assessing and responding to a complex security situation. Following this, the top five teams will be mentored before facing off in the final event. This year’s program will delve into crucial areas like network protection, threat management, system security, and incident response, while also incorporating the latest in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Circularo’s sponsorship aims to provide students with hands-on experience that complements their academic learning. The firm intends to offer its industry insights through direct engagement and interaction with the participants. This initiative builds on the success of the inaugural School of Cyber Defence competition held during GISEC Global 2025, which drew over 300 applications from UAE universities and saw 130 students move through the qualification rounds.
The competition is open to students aged 17 and above, who can form teams of up to five members. No prior competition experience is necessary. Participants stand to compete for a prize pool exceeding AED 20,000. Important dates for the event include the registration deadline on September 3, 2026, the online qualification by September 6, case study and jury assessment from September 7-11, and the announcement of finalists and mentoring on September 14, prior to the final competition on September 18 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai.
