The Turkish Parliament will commence its weekly session on Tuesday with significant agenda items, including deliberation on a new bill related to the Turkish Red Crescent and a presentation from Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan. Lawmakers are set to discuss potential changes that would impact how the Turkish Red Crescent, along with international and foreign Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations, manage aid received in both ordinary and emergency situations.

The proposed legislation aims to formally authorize these organizations to handle cash and in-kind assistance directed to Türkiye. Additionally, the bill outlines compensation measures for Turkish Red Crescent personnel engaged in fieldwork during disasters, wars, conflicts, and other extraordinary circumstances. Another provision includes the inclusion of provincial and district branch leaders of the Red Crescent in the boards of trustees of local Foundations for Social Assistance and Solidarity.

In another significant event, Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan is scheduled to address the Parliamentary Planning and Budget Committee. His presentation will focus on global economic trends, the state of Türkiye’s economy, inflation issues, and the framework of the country’s monetary policy. This discussion is expected to shed light on Türkiye’s current economic strategies and challenges.

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Public Works, Reconstruction, Transport, and Tourism Commission will review legislation concerning foreign digital accommodation platforms. This examination forms part of the broader legislative activities planned for this session.
