In a move to enhance judicial collaboration, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia have committed to expanding their cooperation in justice-related matters. This decision was reached during a meeting in Ankara between Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek and Saudi Justice Minister Walid bin Muhammad Al Samaani. The discussions focused on judicial reforms, enhancing legal expertise, and advancing digital justice initiatives.
Both nations underscored the importance of developing robust legal systems, aligning their efforts with Türkiye’s “Century of Türkiye Vision” and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. The ministers highlighted the potential benefits of stronger bilateral ties in the legal domain, aiming to foster a more efficient and modern justice system in both countries.
A significant part of the dialogue involved Türkiye’s proposal to share its advancements in judicial digitalization. Through its National Judiciary Informatics System (UYAP), Türkiye offered insights into artificial intelligence-supported legal services, cybersecurity measures, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. These areas are seen as crucial for modernizing judicial processes and enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
Additionally, the ministers agreed on the value of increasing official exchanges and direct collaboration among legal professionals from both countries. Such initiatives are expected to not only strengthen bilateral relations but also improve access to justice by providing more streamlined and effective legal services.
