Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan have solidified their intentions to enhance their bilateral relationship by focusing on expanding cooperation in various sectors such as trade, investment, transportation, and regional connectivity. This decision was announced after the seventh meeting of the Türkiye-Kyrgyzstan Joint Strategic Planning Group, which took place in Ankara and was co-led by the foreign ministers of both nations.

The meeting saw officials from both countries evaluate the progress made in their bilateral relations and express a mutual desire to deepen collaborations in critical areas including education, cultural exchanges, and economic advancement. Discussions also covered the groundwork for upcoming reciprocal visits by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, highlighting the importance of ongoing diplomatic engagement.

Economic partnership emerged as a central theme, with both governments committing to support new investment ventures and to establish favorable conditions for business operations. Moreover, they agreed to enhance travel, employment, and educational opportunities, thereby fostering stronger people-to-people connections between the two nations.

Regional connectivity was a significant topic during the talks, with Kyrgyzstan emphasizing the significance of the Middle Corridor as a strategic transportation route. The plan to connect the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway to this corridor was discussed, aiming to provide better access to European and Middle Eastern markets through Türkiye.

The ministers also addressed regional and global security challenges, reiterating their dedication to resolving disputes through dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law. Kyrgyzstan commended Türkiye’s efforts in regional mediation and expressed gratitude for Ankara’s support in its successful bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2027–2028 term. Kyrgyzstan aims to use this platform to foster international dialogue and advocate for the interests of landlocked developing nations, mountainous regions, and small island states.
